Historic Erebus 1-2 result as Will Brown wins in Perth
Supercars' self-proclaimed underdog Erebus has today scored an historic result, the team's first-ever 1-2 finish at the first of two races in Perth this afternoon.

Toowoomba's #9 Coca-Cola Camaro driver Will Brown claimed his second career victory since his debut in 2021 ahead of teammate and Championship leader, #99 Coca-Cola Camaro driver Brodie Kostecki.

Perth-born Kostecki extended his points lead with his second placing, with veteran Ford driver James Courtney third in his Snowy Rivers Caravans Ford.

Brown's victory was also the first win in Perth for Erebus since Will Davison won aboard a Mercedes-AMG in 2015.

Chaz Mostert (#25 Mobil 1 Optus Mustang) finished fourth ahead of Supercars' Champion Shane van Gisbergen (#97 Red Bull Ampol Camaro), who raced from ninth to fifth.

Brown led the field into Turn 1 from pole, with former Erebus driver David Reynolds slotting into second aboard his #26 Penrite Mustang.

From there, Brown was never troubled leading from start to finish for a famous win.

Race 9 pole-sitter Broc Feeney (#88 Red Bull Ampol Camaro) was 12th ahead of his start from the front of the grid later today.

Kostecki will carry an extended 88-point lead over Mostert into Race 9, with van Gisbergen 96 points down in third.

Brown is 177 points behind his teammate in fourth, with Erebus extending its teams' championship lead to 153 points ahead of the final race of the event later today.
