Jack Le Brocq takes pole in record-breaking Townsville Shootout
Erebus Motorsport’s Jack Le Brocq has spoiled the Ford party at the NTI Townsville 500, with the Chevrolet Camaro driver snatching pole position by the closest margin in Townsville history.

Le Brocq – who turns 32 today – beat Saturday’s race winner Cam Waters by 0.002 of a second in today’s Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, the closest margin from first to second for what will be the 40th Supercars race in Townsville.

It is the second career pole for Brisbane-based Victorian Le Brocq – who recently wed longtime partner Makenzie and are expecting their first child.

In 2023 Le Brocq was able to convert his first career pole into victory at the Darwin Triple Crown.

2010 Supercars champion James Courtney made a surprise run to third in the Shootout after just sneaking into the Shootout this morning, with his Shootout lap less than half a tenth of a second off Le Brocq’s.

Ford drivers Thomas Randle and Will Davison continued their strong weekends by qualifying fourth and fifth for today’s 250-kilometre race.

Supercars championship leader Will Brown again has his work cut out for him today after qualifying 17th this morning.

The 25-year old from Toowoomba made an impressive climb yesterday from a 13th place start to finish on the podium in Race 13.
