About This Product:
Holden has played a special role in the Walkinshaw family's racing endeavours in Australia.
The relationship began in 1987 when Tom Walkinshaw, a Scotsman renowned in racing worldwide as both a team owner and driver, began campaigning Holden Commodores in touring car racing as well as becoming a partner with Holden in its new Holden Special Vehicles road car operation. That led to Tom Walkinshaw Racing becoming its factory squad in Australian touring car racing for the 1990 season under the Holden Racing Team name, a brand that became synonymous with success over the following 26 years.
HRT delivered many championship victories and Bathurst 1000 triumphs with drivers such as Peter Brock, Craig Lowndes, Mark Skaife and Garth Tander, as well as developing a fiercely loyal army of supporters, one that was among the biggest and most passionate across any sporting code in Australia.
Its evolution to include the HSV Dealer Team and Walkinshaw Racing-branded teams saw the Walkinshaw team's Commodores remain at the forefront of V8 Supercars racing, his son Ryan taking over the reins with his father's passing in 2010.
The team evolved once again in 2018 with the addition of global motorsport identities Michael Andretti and Zak Brown to form Walkinshaw Andretti United, a partnership that led the team back to the top of the Bathurst 1000 podium with drivers Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth in 2021.
While the team's chapter with Holden comes to a close at the end of the 2022 season, its time serving The General will forever be a celebrated part of Supercars history.
This incredible large format print produced in association with the team at V8 Sleuth features a range of imagery and a timeline of key moments this iconic motorsport team has enjoyed with Holden from their first race overseas in 1987 to the last in a Holden at the 2022 Adelaide 500.
Measuring 1000mm X 590mm, printed on 250gsm matte paper using offset print technology in an exclusive individually hand numbered limited edition, this is the ultimate print for fans.
